Aspartame and anxiety

Hi, sorry that this is long but I am very confused! Don't want to drip feed, im 23 and I'm married, never had anything like this before.
I have recently started having phases of total panic (nausea, heart rate going up, dizziness).
It's completely random like I will be at a shopping centre and suddenly my heart gets faster and I feel sick, dizzy and I need to leave immediately.
I have fainted a few times and my DH has been a total star in helping me.
I have recently realised I have claustrophobic tendencies as I cannot get on a crowded train, in a lift, in a bar where people are stood near the door, I am constantly looking for exit points and if I can't see one I fear I will die (extreme, I know!) but this is very recently that I have become so distressed I actually faint.

Each time the random episodes have happened I have had a Diet Pepsi/ diet soda drink which contains this ingredient.. is there a link? Has anyone had the same experience of randomly feeling ill when they've had a Diet Coke?! I feel absolutely ridiculous ruining a day out because I become ill! Thank you.

I wouldn't recommend fizzy drinks, sugar or sweeteners.
Feeling ill is probably more to do with the anxiety.

Maybe you could completely stop drinking Diet Coke and see how you feel.

Caffeine feeds anxiety
