Intrusive thoughts

I really need some help. I'm getting lots of intrusive thoughts, telling me to kill myself. Consequently I'm having real trouble stopping myself from taking an overdose, not necessarily to kill myself but to sleep and stop the thoughts. My husband has removed all my meds so I no longer have the means.

I am under the mental health team an£ rang them yesterday but no-onerang me back.

please ring Samaritans and get emergency docs appointment failing that go straight to a and e, is there a local mind support group you could get to ?
Please please do not act on these thoughts
You know this will pass as it has in the past, experts can help but you are the best expert for yourself. I hope your OH is giving you your meds as you must keep taking them
You are not alone there are lots of us struggling at the moment. Personally I tiring myself out with swimming and opening up to a good friend, rescue remedy from health shop and nytol can be used with most meds as well
Keep talking, holding your hand xxx

Thank you, I really appreciate your message. My husband is giving me my meds so that's covered and I've already been for a run this morning so I'm trying to keep busy and active.

I phoned the mental health team yesterday but no-one phoned me back.

Definitely phone the Samaritans. And if you get to real crisis point then please go to A and E. I know how horrendous this can be. Much love to you.

The thought of going to A&E scares me. I've heard such horror stories online of when people have been for mental health problems. It'll start a chain of events that I'm not sure I'll be able to stop.

I phoned the mental health team again so hopefully someone will phone me back. I don't know what they can do though.

I spoke with the mental health team and they were no help whatsoever. There really is nothing that can help me right now.

I have an appointment next Tuesday but that's ages away.

Hi crankyhousewife,
We are really sorry to hear you are feeling this way.

We hope you don't mind, but when these threads are flagged up to us we usually add a link to our Mental Health resources.
You can also go to the Samaritans website, or email them on [email protected]. Support from other Mumsnetters is great and we really hope you will be able to take some comfort from your fellow posters, but as other MNers will tell you, it's really a good idea to seek RL help and support as well.

We also like to remind everyone that, although we're awed daily by the astonishing support our members give each other through life's trickier twists and turns, we'd always caution anyone never to give more of themselves to another poster, emotionally or financially, than they can afford to spare.

We're so sorry you're suffering, crankyhousewife, and we hope you find support very soon. Flowers
