I am on my first day of 50mg of sertraline and it gave me the worst heartburn ever (like I had when I was pregnant!!) and then I had the sudden urge to be sick! Which I ran to the bathroom and was, I am taking this at the moment with mirtazipine as my psychiatrist and GP want me to cross taper over to Sert while coming off of mirtazipine.
Has anyone had anything like this? How long for? Are there any other ones that possibly wont make me sick?!

I was given them and told they may make me quite sick but I was fine. I had a friend who said they made her feel pretty sick though.

@mamaandthegirls I had exactly the same experience when I started taking 50mg and I just wanted to reassure you that it did, quite quickly, get better! I had horrendous heartburn for the first week or so and was sick as well.

I found that it helped if I took it at breakfast with a whole glass of water (drinking a little bit before, water with it, more water after swallowing!). After a week or so, I just had very mild heartburn and a "lump in the throat" feeling. After another week or so I wasn't getting any side effects at all and was fine thereafter.

So, my advice would be that it's horrible at the start, but it does wear off, so try to stick with it. In terms of the anxiety, I found it SO helpful, so it is worth it!

Can you half them and take 25mg for a week and then go up to the 50mg, might give your body a chance to get used to them.
