Pregabalin for anxiety?

Pregabalin is an epilepsy drug that is also prescribed for nerve pain and also anxiety.
Has anyone on here been prescribed this?
I'm on escitalopram and beta blockers but my GP prescribed pregabalin for my neck pain. I've since heard real horror stories about this drug and it's withdrawal problems.

I was on it for 3 years. It helped massively with the anxiety. I took it with venlafaxine. Both were a nightmare to come off-took best part of a year by reducing dose very very slowly. That said the combination saved my life 4 years ago

It's tough to know what to do. I was shocked she just offered this drug without doing tests first. She has no idea what's causing my nerve pain really. No scans, no referral.....just prescribed a drug that I've read is a last resort when all else fails.
I took it for 4 days. I had constant headache and swollen abdomen and couldn't remember what I was doing.

I take it and i think it is good. I take so many medications for my mental health so it can be difficult to know which is helpful but I noticed some difference when I took it.

@Limensoda I'd push for further investigation. I suffered with side effects for 3 months at the start.

Yes, I will. I'm on enough medication already.
Are you still taking it? I've heard it's really bad when you try to stop.

No I've been off it for about a year. It took about a year of very very gradual reducing of dosage to come off it
