Well just that really! I haven’t & I do miss it. Perhaps i’m being too strict & overthinking it. Just wondering what others do. I was always a social drinker before but quite a lightweight! I miss my weekend drink!

What are you taking? How long have you been on them for?

slipperywhensparticus · 20/07/2019 14:48

No

Cillmantain · 20/07/2019 14:49

Yes I do in moderation.
Social drinker only and on antidepressants for years.
I think it depends on the meds though.
I take Lexapro and does not seem to cause problems.
However I realise that other meds are a no.
Alcohol has never made be feel depressed but I am wary of it.
Initially when I did inconjuction with meds I told my husband and friends just in case.
Good luck whatever you decide.

I've had one glass of wine in 10 months. It's not advised on my medication so it's soft drinks for me.

Fishcakey · 20/07/2019 15:06

Yep I do. I take Chlomiperamine and have always drank with them. Been on them about ten years.

granadagirl · 20/07/2019 20:47

Yes I do, couple glasses of wine I’ve been on different antidepressant 35+ years, currently on venlafaxine . Don’t seem to have any problems but I only stick to 2.

bringincrazyback · 20/07/2019 20:49

I've been on amitriptyline for years and seem to be able to get away with having a few tipples from time to time with no ill effects.

BippityBoppity87 · 20/07/2019 21:16

You can, but in moderation, anymore and it can either stop your medication from working effectively or have some nasty side effects.

BippityBoppity87 · 20/07/2019 21:18

If you’re a light weight then I would be especially careful! As it can sometimes make you feel like you’ve had 5 drinks, instead of two, if that makes sense.

soundsystem · 20/07/2019 21:18

Yep I don't get smashed or anything but I do have a glass of wine with a meal/pint of cider on a sunny day. I take a low dose of Setraline

greatbigbushybeard · 20/07/2019 23:06

I am on Duloxetine, been taking 30 mg for 4 weeks & recently upped to 60mg. Thanks all. I don’t want to get smashed just have a glass of wine or a cider occasionally ( or on a w/e!)

I've stopped alcohol completely. Not had any for 5 months. I'm on three meds that all say no alcohol.

Volluto · 21/07/2019 22:56

I drink as normal with no noticeable effects any different from not being ion ADs

gandalf456 · 21/07/2019 23:00

I'm on Fluoxetine and drink with them. It says in the leaflet not to but I haven't noticed any adverse effects. They do say it stops them working as well, though, as alcohol is a depressant so it may be advisable to limit drinking a bit.

QueenOfWinterfell · 23/07/2019 16:51

Yes but not a lot or I get depressed
