Citalopram - feeling terrible - help

Have been on Citalopram now for four months after swapping from Fluoxetine (got horrible side effects on it).

Initally, Citalopram was great, no probs. Over the past month my 'low' days have been on the increase and this morning I woke up with an intense feeling of anxiety - so much so that I have just cried all day for no reason and have a feeling of dread in my chest like a piece of bloody lead.

Anyone else has similar or just me?

Hi there, I was on Citalopram for five months and had no problems but i really feel for you. I gave it up gradually (not under doctor's orders) and still have low days where my stress levels are through the roof.

Can you go back to your GP? You may need your dose changed. Is there anything in particular that's making you anxious or is it totally unfathomable?

Sending you big hugs x

Do you think that you need to up the dose OR try some thing else?

Do you think that citalopram isnt suiting you?

Has some thing happened to trigger these feelings?

I think that it is important to explore every issue. May be a logical explanation.

Thanks for responses.

I think it is the citalopram. I had a dream about an experience in my personal life which made me wake up anxious, teary and frightened the same could happen again....that set me up for the day whereas normally I would just shrug something like that off. Maybe the Citalopram is heightening my anxieties??

Have a review in a week's time.

Really odd.
