Hi everyone. I don't know if any of you will recognise my name but over time I've had quite a few posts about mental health and how I've been suffering. Also a few posts about how I can't seem to make friends etc.

For about two years now I have been under the care of a mental health team, and recently had to go in as I was starting to feel rubbish again . ( I am diagnosed as having Borderline Personality Disorder amongst a few other things)

So after a lengthy chat with the psychologist it turns out he is actually adamant I am on the autistic spectrum and that I have been misdiagnosed with BPD. We spoke at great length and I seemed to tick all the boxes. I am also scoring very high for ADHD as well. I am now waiting to hear back for an official screening but he said it is most definite, and explained to me the struggles girls and women have with actually being noticed as having ASD. He gave me a lot of information to read at home and it's like something has gone off in my head and my whole life makes sense like it never has before.

My whole life I've felt different. And this explains everything. I feel a sense of relief that I may finally start be able to understand myself and the world around me , but also sad for me as a child and teenager, wondering what I could have achieved if I had had a proper diagnosed when I was younger.

I can't believe I am nearly 30 and this has only just started to be picked up on. It's mad. The psychologist said he recently diagnosed a women in her late 60's.

Anyhow , I wondered if anyone would like to share their experiences with me !

Looking forward to reading !

I've got an autism assessment next month, I only realised I may be on the spectrum when my son was diagnosed 6 years ago.
