Antidepressants that don’t cause weight gain

Are there any? I’ve been on Citalopram about 8 months and I’ve gained about a stone.

I take trazodone and stayed a steady weight on it until they reduced the dose and the depression came back and I started stress eating and grabbing take aways when I couldn't be bothered cooking.

Vortioxetine, bupropion, agomelatine. You might struggle to get them if you're not under a specialist.

Fluoxetine has mixed reports.

Mirtazapine is one to definitely avoid.

I'm losing on Venaflaxine. And yes, avoid Mirtazapine!

Ive been on citalopram, mirtazapine and quitepaine and not put on any weight at all.

Have you been back OP? I'm going to my gp this week to discuss options and wondered if the go was happy to prescribe those listed?

I haven’t been back yet. I’ve been trying to do more exercise, if only so I can tell the gp I’ve tried it. I’d like to hear how you get on though if you want to share.

Can’t say they have put weight on me,

When I’m anxious, the first thing it affects is my appetite just goes to zero.

No weight gain for me on Fluoxetine.

Mirtazapine weight gain isn't compulsory, but requires a lot of discipline.

Buproprion is one
I gained weight on paxil. Switched to prozac and lost weight and now have a really good physique.
