Safety planning - what is it?

My care coordinator wants to do some work around safety planning, to do with the voices telling me to do dangerous things.

Does anyone know what safety planning is?

I'm not a social worker but I guess safety planning would be to do with keeping yourself safe, so maybe exploring potentially dangerous situations, spotting what the risks might be and what you can do about them to keep you or others safe, and where you can get support.
