Anxiety and hate going on holiday

Anyone else like this? We are going to the US in a few days and everyone else is excited but I just have knots in my stomach. I hate leaving my house and my pets (who are being looked after a very good friend takes the dog to her house then comes over twice a day to sort out the others, then we reciprocate once we are back), it’s so far away. I’m actually not too bad with flying it’s just the being away from home thing.

I’m actually not on meds just now, was on citalopram then went on duoxetine but weaned myself off that as the side effects were horrific. GP said give yourself a few months see how you go. I’ve been on ADs on and off since for over 20 years I think I don’t function well without them. Need to go back to GP but that’s not going to help with this holiday

I'm exactly like this. Once I'm on holiday I'm fine but on the run up to it I'm really anxious, to the point I don't want to go away. The only thing that helps is lots of lists and the knowledge that once I'm there it will be worth it.

When I’m there I just want to come home though. Probably should just stay at home.

We’re off in the morning and my stomach is doing somersaults, lying here thinking of all the what ifs. Mostly about something happening to the pets or the house whilst we are away despite someone coming over twice a day.

I have to hide it as everyone is so excited we are going to the US. DCs first time they are hyper. Sad
