Has anyone had anger management?

I feel like I need this. And not just your usual angry mum. I flip, not violent. But scream and shout. A burning rage. Over minimal things. And I feel horrible immediately after but can't help myself. If it was my neighbours I'd wonder what the hell was going on. Who do I talk to? The doctors?

Yes, GP can refer you.

I asked my GP for this and she looked confused and had never heard of this being something they can help with. I never got a referral. It was MIND the mental health charity who told me to ask my GP, so hopefully you will have more luck. I think there may be online resources too. You could also see if any of your local MH charities run courses on this, I guess.

Anger management issues are often intertwined with depression. Excessive anger is recognized as a symptom of depression in children and adolescents but oddly not in adults according to the DSM. It's something to consider.

Oh that's interesting! And would actually make sense. Thank you!
