Anxiety making me ill?

Hi, I was wondering if any other anxiety sufferers have ever found themselves repeatedly physically unwell? My husband is convinced why I seem to get over one thing only to catch another is because I spend a lot of my time in a sheer state of panic. I have suffered with quite bad anxiety (privately) for a number of years and something I am especially anxious about is health. This is because our household seems to be constantly unwell and in doctors appointments, it gets you down after a while. Could the stress have harmed my immune system, as literally, I will be starting to feel better from one thing and the next day I wake up with a terrible sore throat again. It's not a one off, this seems to have been going on for about a year now. Had blood test as dr says all ok there x

Yes, anxiety can definitely impact on physical health.

Have you tried simple things like regular vitamin C to see if that makes a difference?

My anxiety has definitely changed my physical health. I've just started magnesium, vitamin D and a good quality multi vitamin. Hoping that helps a bit

Yes, I get this and sometimes seem to bring on illness when I am really anxious, which then turns into a weird avoidance thing as well. I think it's because I use up most of my energy in being anxious so there isn't much left for a healthy immune system, or that makes sense for me anyway. I also take supplements, I have cut back on sugar, I have epsom baths which have high levels of magnesium. I think it is all reversible once you find ways to calm down again your immune system will bounce back and you may well find yourself fighting off bugs with ease again.

Definitely affects my physical health.
Aches, pains, dreadful gastro problems- all since my anxiety issues started.

Hi all, thanks so much for your helpful replies. Random question does anyone ever suffer with heavy aching arms (especially the tops) with anxiety? Thank you x

Yes,....aching arms and legs too.
It's because you tense those muscles without realising it.
All my muscles ache, all the time.
