Sorry you don't feel like you are coping. You gave the title cbt- are you looking to try some? Apparently there are online courses now

Miniloso · 07/06/2019 18:28

I’m having CBT, for anxiety and self esteem issues - it’s been life changing.

Relaxing2 · 07/06/2019 19:04

I had cbt for anxiety and we just went through was was making me anxious. Firstly he got me to learn to breathe properly when I was feeling anxious and then we went through what my triggers were and how I could react differently if they happened again. I had a degree of success whilst I was doing the cbt and some of the techniques have stayed with me since but I realise retrospectively we didn't really get to the bottom of the reasons for my anxiety so it didn't really help long term.

I couldn’t wait for the NHS appointment, so went private at £60 a session.

Relaxing2 · 08/06/2019 19:59

How long do your sessions last? I'm doing mindfulness and relaxation

I did some over the phone. There are books etc but I couldn’t focus ling enough for that. One thing that helped me was to plan the days. Make myself do something that needed doing, something routine and something just for me. It made me work out what I stopped doing when I felt bad. And helped me spot those things back into my day.
Getting out.
Exercise.
Reading.
Music.
Doing my nails etc.

Relaxing2 · 08/06/2019 20:17

I do this I could just be cleaning walking listening to music and it just pops into my head making me panic again and round and round In a circle

Until you can get seen by a professional there are phone lines you could try for when your feeling those negative thoughts. Ie Samaritans, mind, PANDAs (if it could be PND) etc.

Things you can try for now to help with the anxiety- practicing self care (baths, reading, wakings things that are for you that help you relax and look after yourself)
Guided breathing, mediation- this will help you to learn to breathe though hard moments and general relaxation. (Loads of apps)
Maybe look at CBT to start identifying the situations that are causing the anxiety and learning about how to break the cycle www.getselfhelp.co.uk/step1.htm

It's great that you are going to get help. I'm sorry that it will take a while. Did you go through your GP did they offer antidepressants? You can make a decision on weather you want them or not but they will take at least two weeks to start helping.

Thank you very much for that information yea I've been to gp on anti depressants and propanol for it just waiting on cbt
