Really, really struggling.

I feel awful today. I can't be bothered to do anything. All I've done is eat and watch TV or be on my phone. Not even had a shower. I can't see the point of anything. I don't know what to do or where to go for help. My next psychiatry appointment I can't go to and I know the replacement one they give me will be months away. I've just had enough.

Hi didn’t want to read and run, I’m sorry ur having a such a bad day :( anything in particular happened? I’m here if u want someone to chat too xxxx

Mentalray · 04/06/2019 19:33

Saw no one has answered you. I think a lot of people, especially those of us looking at the mental health chat, feel like you.

Like you, I have done very little today while I have a ton of work waiting for me. No one to help either

Maybe try to get one thing done per day? Today just get a shower done?

I know I am struggling too, so here I am on MN. I made a final attempt at turning my life around over the winter and I failed.

This probably isn't helping you much. But at least you know one person read what you wrote...

Lily715 · 04/06/2019 20:02

Thank you.

I've managed to shower and go to the shop so that's something I guess.

There's nothing in particular getting me down just everything feels just a bit shit at the moment. Life feels very mundane and without direction.

Thank you for your replies, it helps just so know there's someone there.

Sorry it was a rough day for you.
Can you say why you won’t make this appointment?
I hope they can reschedule for sooner than you expect.
Well done on the shower & shopping!

Lily715 · 04/06/2019 21:56

I will have to cancel the one I've got because I can't go on that day even though I really need the appointment. I just know what mental health services are like at the moment and I know the next appointment will be months away. I just don't know where to go for help because the GP just suggests counselling which I've had years of and doesn't really help me.

So what do you have planned for tomorrow?

tearinmybeer · 06/06/2019 12:48

You showered AND went to the shop! That made me smile, I hope it gave you just a tiny bit of peace. Not trying to be patronising, it's things that can often be near impossible for me. Please be kind and compassionate to yourself today.

cakeandchampagne · 06/06/2019 13:21

I hope they were reasonable about rescheduling.
Thinking of you today.

Lily715 · 07/06/2019 12:15

Thank you. I've not managed to get up yet today. I'm still in bed. I feel like there's nothing worth getting up for.

OP posts:
cakeandchampagne · 07/06/2019 12:39

Maybe breakfast? Is there anything in your kitchen worth getting out of bed for? Or do you have to go look? Smile

tearinmybeer · 07/06/2019 18:09

Hi Lily, how's it going?

Lily715 · 07/06/2019 20:43

Not good. Having suicidal thoughts.

m0therofdragons · 07/06/2019 20:58

@Lily715 you've done amazingly today. Despite feeling rubbish you managed to shower and go to the shop. Don't play down that achievement! Do you have any family or friends you could see over the weekend?

Make a plan for tomorrow. Nothing crazy, just:

Get up and have breakfast
Lounge about until 10.30am (if you're low in energy, allow yourself to be lazy. It's fine and good for you)
Go out - walk / garden centre / National Trust property or something free, anything
Go home and have a dinner you enjoy

Call Samaritans 116 123
Or call 111

Be kind to yourself op.

Hi, OP. We're so sorry to hear you're feeling so low.

We can see you're 'in the system', though we do understand that doesn't feel enough always. But we thought we'd post our usual link to our Mental Health webguide just in case there are any useful numbers on there you haven't tried.

Support from other Mumsnetters is great and we really hope you will be able to take some comfort from your fellow posters, but as other MNers will tell you, it's really a good idea to seek RL help and support as well so do have a look and see if there's anyone you could call or see.

As always, we also like to remind everyone that, although we're awed daily by the astonishing support our members give each other through life's trickier twists and turns, we'd always caution anyone never to give more of themselves to another poster, emotionally or financially, than they can afford to spare.

We do hope things somehow start to feel better for you soon.

cakeandchampagne · 07/06/2019 23:05

How are you doing? Did you venture out of bed today?
