I must admit I’ve never heard of that one; I’ve been prescribed most of not all of the main SSRIs over the years, unfortunately with no effect. Is this new on the market? And is it an SSRI, SNRI or something else? goes away to Google it

Hi Sean I think it's been prescribed here since about 2015. Vortioxetine is also known as Brintellix or Lundbeck. It is an SSRI recommended by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) for treating severe depression.

My mother has been prescribed a 10mg daily dose and has been taking it for just over 3 weeks with no effect so far.

Just finished week 4 - first 2 weeks at 10mg, taking 20mg since then.
Not convinced that it has helped at all tbh though have previously been treatment resistant to a lot of antidepressants.

It can take at least six weeks for an AD to take effect.

Similar to but not the same as an SSRI. Described as a multimodal antidepressant in a class of its own. Said to have fewer side effects than the SSRI's (With doses
