Depersonalisation / Disassociation

Does anyone suffer with depersonalisation? I was diagnosed with BPD last year and one of the things they talked about was depersonalisation. Lately it’s been getting a lot worse to the point where I feel really ill. My GP has referred me back to the mental health team and I’m terrified their going to say it’s not BPD and is something more serious.

Anyone have any experience of this?

I think that's what I'm experiencing. For a while now I've been having strange symptoms such as blurred vision, feeling "stuck in my head" ( that's the only way I know to describe it), feeling spaced out, things looking distant, brain fog, just a general sense of being out of it and detached. My psychiatrist seems to think it could be dissociation/depersonalisation. I'm on duloxetine, olanzapine and recently started on lithium. No advice but didn't want to read and run; you're not alone.

I suffer from both depersonalisation and derealisation. I don't have BPD but I know mine is brought on by severe anxiety attacks as my brains way of "removing" me from the situation. It's normally used by your brain when something traumatic happens (like if you are in an accident and everything slows down or you can't remember things) but sometimes malfunctions and kicks in when it shouldn't really.

I hope you are okay OP Flowers
