Hi, I’ve been prescribed this for OCPD, GAD & major depressive disorder. I’m on 10mg at the moment with a view to gradually increasing to 40mg on the advice of the psychiatrist. I’ve been feeling, agitated and on the verge of anxious. Is this normal? I’ve been on so many different meds over the years but can never remember the start up side effects! I’m not hyper but sleeping is more difficult and agitated is the only way I can describe the way I feel. Please tell me it will pass, I’ve got my hopes set on this med to be the one that works. Thank you xx

I'd say yes.

Changing / lowering / increasing medication often has side effects.

Ones I've noticed most is shakiness, anxiousness, sleep disturbances and thirstiness.

I think after a couple of weeks it's still there talk to your psych or GP.

Hope it starts to help.

That's not from using that medication but from using other antidepressants.

Sertraline/Prozac/Valium.

Thanks for replying. Yes I’m sure it’s the medication, I’ve changed from 60mg fluoxetine to this so I suppose it’s to be expected. I just tend to think the worst and that the anxiety is coming back. It’s a big change so I suppose I should expect some sort of side effect. Thanks again x

They often say with antidepressants they make you feel worse before better

The anxiety isn't returning, don't worry! Your meds may make you feel up and down whilst it 'finds it's feet'. It's only temporary. Hang on in there x
