Advice needed - bpd? OCD?

I am after some advice.

Close relative has been diagnosed with OCD and I believe BPD.

They have been up and down in the past - periods of self harming, severe anxiety etc. Used to regularly overdose and then call an ambulance.

They were admitted for some long term counselling and support for OCD however ended up being discharged as hospital felt other issues meant they could not engage fully in the treatment and these had to be resolved first. This seems to have sent them into a downward spiral again.

They are very closed and don't like to talk about anything and block it out. I think this may be the problem in that the treatment they did have has raised issues to the surface etc and they cannot handle them.

They are currently staying with a relative and mental health services are engaged.

But does anyone have any long term advice? Relative they are staying with is older and so in 10 years living with them at not be an option. They stayed previously for several months and functioned well. Were social and would go out etc. They seem to find living alone and managing day to day tasks hard and so things spiral.

In my mind they kind of need some sort of supported housing - does this exist for low level mental health issues. As in not necessity Help with the mental health aspect but more the day to day living stuff?

They take pills until they rattle and do seem to be receiving support - I guess the question is do they need different / other inpatient treatment? They were previously sectioned and their demeanour at the moment is similar to that time. The short term difficulty is the relative lives in a different health area so there needs to be some discussions there to get them involved although that has been initiated.

Does anyone have any advice.
