Hi Katyy,

No I haven't but I was prescribed it a few years ago and decided not to take it because I wasn't sure about SSRIs. You could though request an anti-emetic/anti-sickness med to take with it.

I have severe Emetophobia too- it sucks!

Nausea is a relatively common side effect when you first take sertraline, actual vomiting is not. Is a fear of nausea part of your phobia?

SausageSimon · 07/03/2019 22:19

I don't know if it'll help but I took sertraline and experienced little/no nausea. Mostly weird headaches in the start but no sickness OP.

Hope you find a solution!

I have this tablet and have had no nausea - I am however, stuffing my face like it is going out of fashion. I just cant stop eating. Is this a side effect?

Littlebird88 · 07/03/2019 22:22

yes emmetophobia too.
I ended up trying it no nausea but had to stop due to nightmares

If you want to take it but reduce symptoms such as nausea, start with half a dose for 2-4 weeks (break tablets in half), then increase to full dose.

Thank you all for your help.I've been prescribed 50mg and was thinking I might cut them into quarters for the first few days, haven't plucked up the courage yet though ! The Dr did say it could cause nausea but not vomiting which is a good thing, if there was a gaurantee I wouldn't be sick it would be okay. I'll let you know how I get on.
