CBD oil is working for me

Hi all. I just wanted to offer some positive feedback that I hope will help others. I've been recovering from a horrible mental and physical breakdown I suffered in 2017. I've been on anti depressants and beta blockers for well over a year now. I also have acupuncture as it seems to help. But I started taking CBD oil in December and I'm sure it's had a significant impact.
I feel less foggy headed and less anxious. I feel lighter and brighter too. My energy is increasing as well.
I buy it from Holland and Barrett, but I also checked with my GP before I started taking it to make sure it's be safe. Smile

Glad to hear - I've taken it a few times too.
Hate the taste though when you have to hold it under the tongue!

I'm thinking of trying this. The main thing that worries me is that it will make my binge eating worse. Did you find it increases your appetite?

Also is it expensive?

Glad you're feeling better OP

I am interested in this, could you tell us a little bit more.

Papayalady · 27/02/2019 16:51

It's tricky to tell whether it increased my appetite as I'm on meds too, and I love to eat (I started CBD just before Christmas so I'm sure any weight gain wasn't exclusively due to the oil!). I also worried about this, but someone said that if it's working for your health, give it some time to recover more, then try to lose weight.

Yes, the taste is vile - I call it my swamp water! Grin

The oil costs around £14 per bottle. I've just subscribed for monthly deliveries via Amazon for 5% Jacob Hooley (sold by H&B). I started on 2.5% and you need to gradually increase the dosage.

A tip - don't confuse CBD oil with hemp oil. As far as I'm aware hemp oil isn't as effective as it's made from different parts of the plant. So it's important to do your own research before opting for an oil. Don't just take my word for it Smile

I think you can also buy it in capsule form but I haven't looked into that either.

Hi there...can you use this whilst taking antidepressants? Would it affect me working? Many thanks

Papayalady · 05/03/2019 09:39

I'm taking 100mg Sertraline and it's fine. But that's me. I spoke to my GP before I started the oil, so I'd recommend doing the same.

Thanks @Papayalady I'll speak to my doc. I'm only on 10mg of citalopram

AhhhHereItGoes · 14/03/2019 13:12

Just bought vanilla drops which is much nicer than the original. Still a bit oil like but with a vanilla flavour so less unpleasant.

Highly recommend it's around the £15 mark but it's 200mg so it lasts around a month so worth it imo.

AhhhHereItGoes · 14/03/2019 13:13

I too am on 100mg of Sertraline btw.

I think if you're taking low oil and with little to no THC it should be fine.

Fifteenthnamechange · 14/03/2019 20:41

I'm interested in this. just ordered a sample from CBDbrothers. Only 1.4% so maybe too low. Need something to deal with constant stressed feeling I have, it's supposed to help lower cortisol.
I'm praying it works. I found it really to difficult to understand what I should be taking, what dose etc

mnbvcxzlkjhgfdsa · 14/03/2019 20:50

Do you have the link for the Jacob Hooley amazon link? I can't find it!

TheDogsKnees · 17/03/2019 17:08

I use CBD oil for stress and anxiety. It definitely helps CV me too. I've noticed I laugh more when I'm on it. (I don't mean that is a side effect, I mean I'm definitely happier!) I buy mine from Simply CBD. They are the most reasonably priced on the market. I started with a 250mg bottle for £6. Starting with a low dose is key. Too high a dose can increase the effects of anxiety and make things worse. There are several groups on Facebook where you can get loads of information. Best to do your research before buying.
