Hi all, I've been doing so well on just 10mg if citalopram (4.5 weeks in) ...was recovering from 2 operations, back to work etc. I've now developed a heavy cold and cough and have had a rather anxious day today. I think it started because my nose is blocked and I couldn't catch my breath. And also feel very drained. Can anyone else relate?

Thank you x

Nope, not just you. I get a wobble after a fever or any kind of gastric upset.

I have fairly stable anxiety and depression but it's one of the first signs I'm getting a virus. I start to get anxious again. it's gets worse the more ill I get them it goes after a few days of being better.

God, yes.

I’ve had tonsillitis since last week and been given antibiotics for it. They checked that the ones they gave me don’t contraindicate with citalopram. Feeling a lot better from the tonsillitis but was physically unable to leave the house today due to anxiety. I’ve made sure to take my antidepressants as I have been known to forget when ill. I thought it was just me.

Hope you feel better soon op Flowers

Of course it does! Try not to let this worry you - understand that it is inevitable and completely 'normal'. I (fortunately) do not have MH issues but if I am unwell I cry very easily for example, and after I had an operation I lost confidence in many things - simple things like having a shower. IMHO the best way of dealing with it is to understand it's just temporary. It will pass when you're feeling physically stronger. Flowers

Thank you...:although I wouldn't wish it on anyone, it helps to know I'm not alone. I need to be kind to myself and try to rest!

Hope those of you that are poorly are better soon!
