Escitalopram question

If you take escitalopram what’s the dose?

I’ve been on 10mg for months and recently raised to 15mg. But I’ve received differing opinions from 3 separate doctors (not running around looking for second and third opinions just happen to be seeing different doctors for different things but my medication list is always reviewed by all so as contra indications can be ruled out).

I was originally prescribed for GAD and depression. Has helped tremendously with anxiety but low mood persists so that’s the reason for suggested increase.

Anyone found real improvement in mood with a higher than 10mg dose?

Take your doctors advice, but yes I take 20mg and my mood is significantly better than at 10mg.

I tried to half my dose to 10mg last summer with my doctor's support but I found my impulse control went out of the window for weeks to begin with (in very negative ways i.e. arguing with strangers on the internet/ driving to oxford for the day on a whim when I was supposed to be doing something else and similar) When that passed I was fine for a few weeks and then my mood took a very definite dip and my anxiety reared it's head again. Back on 20mg now and back to normal.
