Hi all,

My mental health has got a lot worse over the past 2 weeks and am suffering constant flashbacks ( have PTSD ) as well as a feeling I am losing control of myself- I am pacing constantly and on guard/ afraid to leave house and have been having suicidal thoughts

I am at a stage where I am going to go to my doctors tomorrow to attempt to get me referred into hospital as a voluntary patient

If I am able to does anyone who has been through it before know if its an instant thing or will it take a couple of weeks to find an available bed?

I am hoping it will be sooner rather than later but nothing seems to be quick with relation to mental health!

I know you're struggling a lot but prepare for the chance you may not be admitted. Theres a serious shortage of beds for MH patients so they're limited to the most seriously at risk. I hope you get the help you deserve and things get better for you. All my love OP

Also when i was admitted the first time (on section) it took almost a week of me staying in the general hospital before they found a bed over 3 hours away
