Prozac and weight gain...

... anyone else gained weight since taking this? I go to the gym every day but my trousers have got a bit tighter - dont know if it is the tablets or not.

I have the opposite

i think some ssri's have as part of their side effect profile weight loss in the short term and weight gain in the longer-term

Thanks for replying. I have been taking them for about 8 weeks now so maybe it takes a while for your body to adjust to the change. Will keep going to the gym but work a bit harder!!

i was on prozac for a few months and plumped on over 20lbs. i was careful with my eating/alcohol intake and i was walking a lot (and playing with ds(3))

i went off them as a result of the weight gain. that made me even more depressed!

20lbs!! Oh gosh. I will see how I get on over next few weeks - have stopped eating chocolate...!

i know and since losing all my baby and pre-preg weight by this past jan. i was religious about what/how i ate.
my GP reassured me its normal that some people gain weight. and some lose. (i lost weight on the ADs i was on in 2005!) :I

oh wells! back to the dieting a LOT routine. at least my size 14s still fit, albeit A LOT snugger now.
