Coming off Amitryptaline

Hi, I have been taking Amitryptaline now for nearly 4 years, I was prescribed it for Fibromyalgia but I am keen to come off of it because since being on it I have suffered dreadfully with anxiety and I feel it is stopping me from living my life normally.

This year we would also like to try for a baby so obviously I am going to have to come off of it anyway at some point and would prefer to do so now.

Any experiences? I have googled but it seems to be a mixed bag. I don't have any mental ill health other than this all encompassing anxiety, but part of that may be due to a recent bereavement. I just want rid of it.

I am on 30mg, should I start reducing down to 25mg for a fortnight and see how I go?

Very very slowly. As in, 5mg at a time and at least a week between dropping them.
