I’ve been bad for nearly 2 years now, some better days occasionally.

My point is
Your bad and that’s all you’ve been offered is counselling or cbt

I’ve been to a&e at least 3 times this years with suicidal thoughts and off the scale anxiety, only to be told and hours off waiting to see gp
Even gp written to secondary mh care, only to be turned down because I don’t meet criteria. Not schizophrenic or bipolar which seem to be main criteria

What’s your experience in your area

Have you thought about contacting MIND and having a chat to see if there is anything available with them?

My local mental health team do accept anxiety and depression as referral to secondary the thresholds are high though in terms of how their life/ day to day functioning is being affected. I was referred through for PTSD/ anxiety / agoraphobia and was then told I had 2 personality disorders while under them I was discharged after 2 years when I could leave the house, go to the shops, attend appointments independently and do some volunteer work x

I should have said my first referral to secondary care was rejected but I asked for a second opinion so they re did my assessment and accepted me x

The site living life to the full is really good. I'm in no way connected to them, but I am studying psychology and it's supposed to be effective with the psychological thought processes - cbt in your own space.
