Coming off citalipram success stories?!

Has anyone got a success story about coming off citalipram???

Have been taking 20mg for 8 years and in Jan cut to 10mg , then 5mg and stopped completely about a week ago.

I know I am suffering the withdrawal effects but I really want to try and see how I feel completely off it. Did anyone else do this and how long did the side effects last? Each day I feel more exhausted and almost hung over.
Thanks in advance for any advice xx

I had to come off it due to side effects and they persisted for about 6 weeks after I stopped.

Utterly shattered. I was falling asleep on the bus on my way in to work. I was taking a paracetamol plus and a can of Coke every morning for the caffeine hit! That didn't last that long though, the weird dreams and hallucinations lasted the whole 6 weeks. Had strange dreams on paroxetine too. Ironically the one I'm on now, Amitriptyline, is the one I get on better with out of them all and it's the one my GP initially refused to prescribe due to the side effects.

I came off it at the same time as I went on a sporting activity holiday, with 6 hours fairly intense exercise each day. I think the exercise really helped with symptoms.

I found all my emotions became much bigger for a while, (good ones included) and I had some of those brain zap things, but not too bad at all, really.

NB the first time I tried to come off didn't go so well and this was the second attempt.

No but I did have cold sweats so probably normal too.
