Anxiety as a car passenger - any tips?

Hi all, after some tips please - I've had anxiety about being a car passenger ever since a near miss on the M25 in a taxi (have had bits of hypnotherapy and counselling) and it's been manageable, but recently my anxiety's flared up due to my dad being seriously ill and I'm now panicking about a 2 hour return trip tomorrow - grateful for any tips (am looking into CBT and possibly meds in the coming week) xx

Hello, this sounds like the sort of thing CBT could help with. I overcame a pretty serious fear of flying with CBT and now just get mild butterflies compared to full blown crying and panic attacks. X

In the interim I’d try distraction. Can you download an audiobook, podcast, or tv programmes to keep you occupied? I also like jigsaws on a tablet - each ones takes me about 30 mins so four of them and you’d be home.

Oops, just realised you’ll be home by now. Hope the journey went ok.
