Hello,

Haven't used this before so not sure if anyone will reply.

Currently not feeling well, sore throat and runny nose etc, I suffer really badly with anxiety, I was on tablets for a year but off them now, I'm still no better, if not worse, I suffer quite bad from health anxiety, any little lump or bump I always assume the worst and start googling! Anyway the point of this thread was because I've noticed my pupils are different sizes, only ever so slightly, my partner doesn't notice it but I can and it's worrying me, I'm not sure if being Ill has got anything to do with it but just wanted to see if there was anyone on here that could put my mind at ease? I also went to see an eye doctor last year and they said my eyes were healthy etc but I've only just noticed the difference in pupils over the last few days (which is when I started feeling ill). Any advice would be great!

Hello,
I know noting about eyes but it sounds to me like visiting your GP to discus both your concerns about your eyes and your health anxiety would be helpful. They are there to help so you should feel free to visit when you feel you need to. You might also be able to get a referral for some CBT to help with the health anxiety. I'm pregnant now and had a miscarriage in the past. Every twinge and I'm on Dr Google freaking myself out so I sympathise! I think the general advice is that if you feel a worry is starting to interfere with your day to day life then it's gone beyond 'normal' and worth seeking help.

Hi KarBB

Thanks for your message, sorry to hear about your miscarriage, I'm sure everything is and will be fine with your one on the way, google is the worst but we're all guilty of it! It's too easy to type in any sort of symptom and then the worst pops up, sometimes I wish the internet had never been invented lol.
Just a waiting game now to hear back from the CBT people, it's a long waiting list but will be worth it in the end.

I've had different sized pupils for ages. Maybe I've always had them, but I only noticed about 10 years ago. Had it checked out, and it's just physiological - quite common apparently. Mention it to your GP.

Thanks! Yes, my rational brain knows things are almost certainly okay and the the little doubting thoughts start creeping in.
If you get a good practitioner CBT is very good. My last NHS one was fab. The waiting list was ridiculous and I did pay to see someone else privately for a different kind of therapy while waiting as I was utterly desperate, which helped me through the roughest patch.
Well done for getting referred - onwards & upwards!
