Hi my name is Rhiannon I am 10 weeks pregnant been on cltalopram 20mg doctor told me to stop then cloud Turky it been horrible mood swings and crying called the midwife she told me not to stop them so confused I want this baby to be health and have a mental state which I can cope and enjoy ,we should have the support and the right answers many it hard to cope with mental ill ness all we need is support many thanks

Hello Rhiannon,congratulations on your pg , I hope you have a healthy pg and birth
Ask midwife to refer you to perinatal consultant and perinatal team to manage and plan your mental health in pg
Re the meds,no don’t abruptly stop citalopram it needs monitored and managed. The mw and perinatal team doctors can recommend suitable medications
Citalopram has some risk in Pg the doctors and team can discuss meds with you
Perinatal team can monitor and support you and write an enhanced plan how to manage and suppprt MH
