Hi. Had anyone live with someone who has bi polar? If so I’m very interested in hearing your experiences. What was it like? What was their behavious like?

I'm bipolar if that helps?!

SquirrelsTyrells · 24/12/2018 20:47

Talk to me about it. We think my husband has it. He’s been referred to community MH team. Whatever that means. But tbh I want him to leave ASAP. He’s horrible.

I’m not sure if it’s his MH or not. Today he is falling asleep everywhere. I don’t know if it’s attention seeking or real. It’s weird.

Me too I'm.bipolar. So is.my sister. We couldn't be more different...when she is ill she has to be.forcibly sectioned and is completely nuts for 6 months. When she's well she is a normal optometrist. When I'm feeling down im very sad and panicky.. and when I'm high I'm always.full of energy.

I think it varies with each person.

Are you horrible to people when you’re down?

I'm bipolar too. I think everyone is different, I get more depressed than anything. Want to sleep a lot, teary, suicidal, drink a lot.

My highs aren't as 'bad' but still pretty delibatating. Spend money I don't have. Spent almost £1k in the past two weeks. Work more, sleep less, drink more, more talkative, friendly, flirtatious, cheat. Only have a couple of times which I'm not proud of. I get hypomania.

I currently take sertraline 100mg, and aripiprazole 5mg, an anti psychotic which I take at night as it can make me quite sleepy,

BippityBoppity87 · 24/12/2018 21:10

To the outside world who don't know me, my hypomania can be quite subtle. But still over the top, I'm usually quite quiet and introverted by nature when I'm stabilised.

The bipolar thread if you have a wee read might be helpful? There's a few people on there who have shared their experiences.

DizzyBeeme · 24/12/2018 22:21

@SquirrelsTyrells no I'm not horrible to people when I'm down..but my sister is horrid to people when she's on a high..everybody is different x

Unfortunately people can get rather self centred and grandiose and lose critical filters. Usually happier high, but other people like them better down. Put him to bed op
