Just got home from work and the anxiety has hit me and all my normal ways of reducing it aren't working. What helps you? Thanks x

What is happening & how does it effect you? Helps to write things down for me, just tip it all out onto a page. Hot bath? Shower?

Sorry hope you are feeling better now. I saw a psychologist about anxiety. He advised that when I'm anxious there may be a thought underlying the anxiety, the thought will not be very nice, so I try to hide the thought from myself. To reduce the anxiety I should try to identify the thought at the bottom of it. Once I have identified the thought I may be be able to challenge it. So if I am feeling anxious about school choice decision the thought might be "a mother should always make the right decision for her child" "my child is special so I should always do what's best for him". If I can counter that with some more realistic thinking it may help. For example "I may have made the wrong decision but all state schools are basically very similar".

I find a brisk walk in the fresh air helps when I am bad. Concentrate on breathing and feeling the now i. E. What can I smell, what can I hear, what details can I see, what can I feel (breeze, rain etc)
