Sertraline - Sexual side effects

Hello
I was put on sertraline after getting postnatal depression with my second baby.

Mental they have worked and I will back to my old self but the side effects have been horrendous!

The headaches, constant nausea have been awful but the worse is the feeling of stomach ulcers and then having to take more tables to reduce the stomach acid.

The side effects were out weighing the benefits so I asked to come off them.

I have been reducing the dose for over a week, then taking one only every other day to slowly wean myself off, however since doing this my sex drive has disappeared, I feel numb in that area and feel like I have no feeling during sex which is obviously not great for me but is then going to affect my fiancé and our relationship to!

I don't understand why these symptoms are starting now I'm withdrawing from the tablets.

Has this happened to anyone else and how long did it last?

Thanks
Jennifer

All SSRIs do it. It doesn't only happen when you're starting them. I'd say withdraw more slowly. A few weeks is too quickly. It should take months to stop antidepressants.
