Pregabalin and diazepam with alcohol

Hi. My go has said I can have a few alcoholic drinks whilst on these medications, I just need to avoid my sleeping tablet if I do have a drink. I was wondering if anyone has drunk alcohol on these medications and felt ok? With it being Christmas I would love a glass of wine or 2. Thanks

I think 1 or two should be ok. I would be careful though as I think these types of medications mixed with alcohol can exasperate the side effects, particularly the diazepam. Will probably make you more sleepy.

Will probably make you sleepy. Depends how you metabolise alcohol though and how used to the medication you are.

Maybe try half a glass or a spritzer to start off with?

Thank you for your reply. I’ve been on the medication nearly 2 years. Yes I think a spritzer will be best. I’ve also got the lowest alcohol content wine aswell. It’s only 5.5%.

I have never taken pregabilin but I have been on diazepam and could have a large glass or two of wine so long as id eaten although I did sometimes skip a dose and always made sure I had eaten as my tolerance was really low (spritzers are perfect for this)

I was on gabapentin for a while Made me really sleepy and never drank on it

I don't drink or take either medication now but those were my experiences

Just go slow and you should be grand

Also, better if you're at home than out unless you have someone with you you trust to get you home if you do get any adverse affects X

It very much depends on the time between, if you drink and take at the same time you will feel the effects oritty quickly of mixing. If you take the diazepam and preglabin first thing and then drink 2-3 hours later, you will feel less if an effect.

Best thing steer clear of booze while on meds, it's a bad combination

I had a couple of G &T whilst taking diazepam. I wont be rushing to repeat the experience. It really plummeted my mood

I drank once when taken Diazepam for a back issue.

Fuck my actual life, it gave me severe amnesia. Genuinely cannot remember a thing!
