Hi there,
I'm currently involved in MBT, which is a two-day a week program where I meet with both a group and an individual psychotherapist to discuss thinking and learning to mentalize. I've been in the therapy for six months, and am struggling. I've never felt so anxious in my life, and I'm starting to experience quite severe nightmares which I haven't had since I was a child. To cut a long story short, I was abused as a child, and never quite got over it. MBT is forcing me to confront alot of it and discuss it, but I don't know if the therapy is helping me at all. I feel very depressed after group, and mentally exhausted. Is this normal? Has any of you been through the same? And what were your experiences of it?
