Citalopram and Antibiotics

I’m just wondering if anyone can give me some reassurance regarding being on Citalopram and taking antibiotics too. I’ve been on citalopram for 3 weeks and today GP has prescribed me Flucloxacillin for an infected toe. I’m sure it’s ok to take both (GP said yes but seemed to be rushing me out) and I can’t see anything on the internet but its taken a lot of courage to even start the Citalopram and I’m terrified of mixing other medications with it.

Ive been taking daily antibiotics & citalopram for 18 months with no problems

Ive also had much higher dosage ones and iv ones in.hospital with no problems

They dont interact, don't worry. Citalopram coexists peacefully with most things actually.

I have taken antibiotics a few times since being on citalopram abs never had any probs - both seemed to work fine while being taken simultaneously.

I've taken Citalopram for years and occasionally antibiotics and no contraindications. The main one to avoid on Citalopram is ibuprofen, I almost gave myself a stomach ulcer when I had toothache.

@MrsMarigold I had no idea about the ibuprofen. I've taken it a few times with no ill affects but will definitely avoid in the future - thanks for the warning!

Im on celexa 10mg daily and just was prescribed amoxicillin for throat infection. I'm scared to take it bc fear of interactions. Has anyone else used amoxicillin while on celexa and been ok?
