Aripiprazole?

I had a mental health assessment this morning after having a breakdown at the beginning of October. The psychiatrist diagnosed me with BPD and suggested adding aripiprazole to my medications (I already take sertraline, propanalol and occasionally zoplicone). Hopefully it will help with my dissociating and also act as a mood stabliser. I'm to start on 5mg and then they will look to see if I need an increase in a months time.

Has anyone taken this before? I'm a little wary of the side effects and not really sure what to expect.

Yes I took it and my whole body was fidgety and restless. I couldn't sleep because my legs were constantly twitching. I took it for a couple of weeks then my psychiatrist changed it to quetiapine which has been very good.

I take 30mg of this (for psychosis though) and the only side effect I’ve found is tiredness. It’s meant to be one of the better anti psychotics for side effects. I was told that for some people it can make them more alert and restless and for others it has a more sedating effect. I take it at night now and I sleep a good 10 11 hours now. But obviously others get different side effects. I also take 200mg of sertraline with it, doesn’t seem to be any adverse effects there either, but I dunno.

I take 25mg for schizo affective disorder & when I first started it I had terribly restless legs for several months but it slowly wore off.
Now the main side effect is tiredness.
