Sertraline & weight gain

Hi, I've been on Sertraline for a few years now having tried lots of different ad's it seemed the one that suited me best. I've gained over 2 stone in that time & despite trying hard I can't shift it. Does anyone else have experience of this? It's really getting me down to the point I'm wondering if it's worth trying a different AD. GP tomorrow so any advice appreciated

Hi Op

I don't have any advice unfortunately but I second what you say. I'm on citalopram which I think is v similar and in the 2.5 years I have been on them I have also gained 2 stone. I'm not sure why wait gain is a side effect but it's definitely frustrating.

I have considered doing the same as you but frankly the first 2 weeks of being on them was so horrendous I'm not sure I'd want to go through that again with a different one.

I have decided that I'm just going to try and lose the weight (easier said than done I know as it doesn't seem to shift as easily either) . I'm 3lb down after starting at the weekend which I am pleased with but weekends are normally my downfall

I'd be interested in hearing what your doctor says. Do update me!
