Venlafaxine plus Sertraline

I've been on Setraline for just over a year; the dose has moved around a bit but currently taking 200mg a day. Was originally prescribed it for anxiety/ptsd which it helped hugely but I've also been battling a period of what my psychiatrist has called extreme depression. I saw him yesterday and he's prescribed a small dose of venlafaxine to have alongside the sertraline to try and improve my mood. Just wondering if anyone else is on this combo and whether it had any benefits to you?

Thanks

@mynameiscalypso did you have any success? The doc has just suggested I do the same add in venlafaxine

I tried it for a little while and then had to stop because I found out I was pregnant - I wasn’t really on it long enough to see if it made much difference but I hope it works for you!

Did you have any side effects on it?

mynameiscalypso · 13/07/2020 12:22

The only side effect that I had was that it totally took away my appetite, thing otherwise.

That’s not too bad.. how long were you on it for?

Maybe two or three weeks?
