I am sure there have been other threads about this but the psychiatrist today prescribed me duloxetine. Anyone here have experience of this positive and negative?

I'm sorry but I can only tell you it didn't help me at all, in fact it set me back. Up north we'd call it 'muck' lol. Found it nasty. Was supposed to help with depression and pain. I wish it had! But am sure others will have more positive experiences to post. I've just gone on to high dose St John's wort as a result of a failed 3 months of sertraline, neither the branded lustral or the generics they gave me worked without hideous side effects.

I hope you find duloxetine suits you. Keep us posted Flowers

Thank you for your reply! I really hope it helps me, today I have felt spacey and nauseous and I hope it doesn't last too long!

fantasmasgoria1 how are you getting on? Were you able to stick with the duloxetine?

I lasted a week on St John's wort before concluding it was making me feel anxious and wound up. Went back on sertraline, tried another generic tablet of that, but this morning had to conclude I'm fighting a losing battle. My stomach hates it and I can't live like that. So I reached into the drawer and found my old pack of duloxetine and despite my earlier post I took it! So it's down the rabbit hole once again for me...

Really hope you've had some luck with it, would be good to hear how you've been doing.

I have gone from 30mg to 90mg in 3 weeks. It has affected my sleep to an extent and I don't feel the benefits of it as yet but its going to take time I think!

Wow, that's quite an increase in a short space of time. Probably to be expected that it's affecting your sleep, even at 30mg last time I remember it made me feel a bit 'speedy' at night times! And yeh, I guess it takes a while to kick in properly, but sounds like you're managing ok.

Today has been fine for me so far. I have about 12 30mg capsules so will make an appointment to see GP next week and explain that I've gone back to it instead of the sertraline. Got a feeling he'll want me to go up to 60mg fairly quickly, he made a big deal of that the first time he put me on it. I'm going to try and stick it out this time, as been reading good things about Duloxetine online today and just want to feel better about myself.

Will update as I go along. Have a great weekend Smile

I have been on duloxetine since April. Have found it ok, was put straight on 60mg and currently still on that dose. Only side effects I feel I still have is crap memory and brain fog at times. Other then that seems okay. Hope it works out for you
