Bpd daughter going to Spain to 'live'

My daughter is 21 and has bpd & bipolar disorder. The last few weeks has seen an increase in overdoses, attempted drowning and disappearing in a forest with intention of doing herself harm. She ended up in hospital and she was sectioned. Within approx 8 hours the section was lifted and she walked out. At the meeting she told the medics she did not want to be detained and I think this is why the detention was lifted.

She has now booked a one way flight to Spain and is leaving in a few days. I have tried to talk her out of it. She doesn't know anyone in Spain and has a limited amount of money.

Has anyone any ideas of how I can stop her going? She thinks she is streetwise she is absolutely not. She is going to Barcelona and it will not go well. Any advice would be greatfully received. Thank you for reading.

Can you contact her CPN? (Guessing she has an assigned community psychiatric nurse) You maybe able to section due to potential harm from the trip and work on balancing medications. Sorry for your pain.

Bobby thank you so much for such a speedy reply. I will contact her CPN in the morning.

I can't believe they lifted the section. Last week was chaotic to say the least.

I can really appreciate what your feeling, you don't know where to turn. I feel your fear, I am going through something with my Daughter and feel helpless, I don't know where to turn. I wish I could wave a magic wand for you. We can't control them anymore. My Daughter won't talk to me or even see me. Sha has had BPD since being 14, now 21 "she is an Adult now". Are you able to speak to Her Psychiatrist? Or even Dr. ? I myself don't know what to do or where to go for advice. You are not alone. God Bless x

Can you take her passport and post it to a relative that will not give it to her?

Also with Brexit maybe the Spanish won’t let her in with a one way ticket. I’m probably wrong.

This happened 4 years ago, so hopefully all sorted now.
