I've been taking Gabapentin/Neurontin for just short of 6 months at 1800 mg for slipped disc nerve pain.
Because my pain has improved, with the advice of a pharmacist I weaned myself off completely over 16 days and have been drug free for 5 days. Over the past couple of days I've been hit by a train!
I'm experiencing depression & low mood as deep as I've experienced with very little motivation. I'd read that there can be some withdrawal symptoms with this drug, but I never realised just how much.
Because I'm drug free, I've just started a course of St John’s Wort to help with the remaining nerve pain & hopefully to lift my mood.
But, does anybody else have experience of this? I was a little low whilst taking the gaba but nothing as bad as this.
If they have, how long did the symptoms go on for? Was there something else that helped them?
Just need some encouraging words, please
