Have just started therapy again.
Is it worth it?
Feel completely rotten at the moment and wondering why I ever wanted to do this. Thank you. I'd be grateful of any guidance or experiences. Really don't know whether to keep on with it.

Stick at it, at least for 2/3 sessions. I see a private therapist for an Eating Disorder but that's not all we talk about and it's nice to have a release to discuss things you don't want to with your friends/family. I have days where I do not want to go but I force myself and when it's done I do feel better for it. That being said therapy isn't for everyone but give it a chance Smile x

Hi OP I think trauma therapy does make you feel much worse- but it's long term aim is to reorganise your thoughts and memories and release the emotions. I thought of it as a ' treatment' which was going to be tough - which it was- because the past came back to the present and overwhelming feelings came into the present and felt very real.
Discuss any feelings of overwhelm with your therapist and ask what support you are allowed to have between session - if any. Consider if you are truly ready or if you need to be more stable or supported in some areas first.

Thank you for your replies. It's useful to know what to expect and whether it is really going to be worth it or not x

Feelings of ' why am I doing this' cropped up regularly for me too
