Hi everyone I started on 10mg citralopram 3 days ago

I am yawning constantly
Hess feels like it's being squeezed
Feel dazed/ fuzzy

Is this normal, how long is it likely to last?

Very normal. Usually lasts about a week. Hang in there - youll start to feel better soon x

Livpool · 11/10/2018 20:11

I agree with LEM - the side effects will ease and you will start to feel better xx

My son is now on 30 mgs daily after a crisis a couple of weeks ago and is finding he feels a lot better . He dropped from 40 mgs after the death of his dog to 20 which we think was too low too fast.

OP I went on it after PND and it was the best thing I ever did. I became me again after feeling like a ghost. Hoping you get better soon xx

Hang on in there - I had the full works! I was so sick I didn't eat for about 5 days, and it took 10 days to start getting any appetite back 😱.

And YES - the yawning! Oh my life I've never yawned so much in my life 😂. I'm so glad I'm not the only one!

Couple of weeks tops. If they make you tired, maybe take them at night?

bigfootfred · 13/10/2018 06:39

I felt abit better yesterday much less yawning & didn't feel like my head was being squeezed Confused
Hoping that might mean it's settling down

One of the side effects of Citalopram is excessive yawning. Another is strange and vivid dreams. I was on them for about 15 years - came off them last week, as they are no longer effective for my depression and anxiety (anxiety is actually a side effect of Citalopram). Citalopram is a very commonly- used drug. I know of about 12 people who are on it at the moment.

I've just started on Mirtazapine, which I hope will be better for me

Went for a walk & it's bad weather but got extremely hot/ sweaty & felt quite dizzy
Got very bad lower back ache like period backache but def not due!
