I have PTSD due to physical & mental abuse from a narcissistic partner. I can't go into detail but he was sentenced to 2 years in jail a year ago. I've just heard he's been released after serving half his sentence. I feel like I'm back to square one. Terrified he will come after me for revenge, unable to sleep or even think straight. I'm on constant alert, I'm jumpy & can't seem to function normally. I'm going to work but just going through the motions. I need help

Talk to your GP. Have you had any counselling for the PTSD?
I can't imagine the anxiety you must be suffering, I hope you get as much support as you need, and that you grow stronger and move towards a happy life.

I've had some counselling. I thought I was doing ok. I was better when I knew he was locked up. I'm on antidepressants & medication for anxiety but nothing is helping right now Sad

Weirdly today i saw my counsellor while I was out at the shops. Haven't seen her professionally since last November. Really wanted to go up & talk to her but thought it would be inappropriate although she was alone & so was I I'm not sleeping & feeling extremely anxious. I really don't know what to do

Hi OP can you contact her for some supportive psychotherapy during this worrying time. Can the police offer any reassurance or support ?
