I find the anticipation of the coming week hard on my mental health. I'm going to guess that others do too.

Whatever you are facing, you do have the strength. Even if you don't feel it yet.

I can do it, you can do it, we can all do it!

Come and share words of encouragement and your Monday aims.

I'm going imagine I have a team of enthusiastic cheerleaders behind me all day. Backing up every positive decision I make.

Hi Erin I know exactly what you mean. If it helps I felt incredibly anxious to the point of episodes of overwhelm and panic in my last job which was LTFT , then I resigned and now do a new post which could be seen as more stressful and is full time abd although I get some general stress I don't have any panic attacks or the same level of anticipatory anxiety I experienced befire( due to not liking the work and also a bullying episode) . So it's not you don't blame yourself .

cricketmum84 · 01/12/2018 10:51

@erinaceus the part time hours are working wonders for me. I've just worked a full week, in the office every day for the first time in around 2 years! I'm also drinking a hell of a lot less and feel more able to cope with things like the supermarket. I even went to an arena comedy show on Thursday night and didn't freak out!

Don't put yourself down. Pushing to work full time hours with anxiety is like shovelling the snow in a blizzard imo. Take the part time hours until you are coping well with them and then gradually increase until you are back to full strength.

Can I join? I have just been shoe shopping for my eldest but now I’m back home I’m fighting the urge to spend the day in my onesie Sad

erinaceus · 02/12/2018 07:35

Thanks @nomoreusernamesfree yes I think part of feeling healthier on LTFT is due to the unhealthy work culture. I'm looking around gently for new positions but applying for jobs is also emotionally exhausting.

Thanks @cricketmum84 for being understanding.

Welcome @Sleepingbunnies to the thread. What is wrong with spending the day in a onesie? You had already been shopping. I wish I had a onesie. It's a bit chilly in my house today.

Sleepingbunnies · 02/12/2018 20:00

Urgh. The thought of a 6am start tomorrow is already making me feel sick :/

Etino · 02/12/2018 20:08

What a lovely thread!
I’m preparing for the eeek ahead by getting everything ready now and having an early night.
Flowers and Brew all round.

Etino · 02/12/2018 20:08

😂 at eeek for week!

nomoreusernamesfree · 02/12/2018 21:56

I am having a real Sunday evening downer the first fir a while as I have been enjoying my new job. I think it's because my boss sounded critical last week abd it brought memories of the last. Now I feel nervous abd a bit panicked.

nomoreusernamesfree · 02/12/2018 21:56

Memories of the past. Also a pressured week ahead. Just panicking a bit.

Sleepingbunnies · 02/12/2018 22:11

Yeah Iv got a shocking week coming up. I should really be in bed already Sad

Sleepingbunnies · 02/12/2018 22:12

Hope your week isn’t as bad as you think it will be Flowers

nomoreusernamesfree · 02/12/2018 22:46

Thanks sleeping. Yes it's a week with short staff and a lot on with the memory of my boss being cross. Weekend was a bit stressful too.

Thanks. Hope you sleep well and week goes well for you xx

nomoreusernamesfree · 03/12/2018 08:21

I'm in . Took a bit of courage but will try to make it better from here.

Sleepingbunnies · 03/12/2018 18:40

Hope your day was good... I am in pjs already and have text my mum to pick my daughters up from brownies because it’s wet and horrible outside and I just want to go to sleep.

nomoreusernamesfree · 03/12/2018 18:59

That sounds great bunnies - rest is good.
I was quite anxious and scared this morning and I do feel a bit upset sort of deep down but I got through the day and got the job done. I had been hoping for leave but not sure how that's looking at the moment

Sleepingbunnies · 03/12/2018 19:21

3 weeks til I have 11 days off for Christmas- I am just holding on till then!

erinaceus · 04/12/2018 06:43

@Etino How's your eeek going?

@nomoreusernamesfree are you back in today as well? Short-staffed sucks, I am so sorry.

@Sleepingbunnies I can relate to holding on until the Christmas break commences. I am rather in survival mode myself on this.

@cricketmum84 Hope you're okay this week.

Etino · 04/12/2018 08:06

Thank you @erinaceus!
Eeek is good so far. Very busy which always helps and I’m being strict with myself with bedtime! I had a bath last night so I’ve got time to stay abed with a hot water bottle on my achey bones for a wee while now. In the spirit of ‘what we can do to help ourselves’ I’ve slung curtains wide back so I’m not sitting in the gloom and reading quietly rather than listening to stressful radio.
Cheering you all on!
🙌🏻

erinaceus · 04/12/2018 08:14

Ty for the cheers.

I have just under three eeeks until I finish work for Christmas.

I hereby pay the cheers forward...

cricketmum84 · 04/12/2018 08:25

@erinaceus all good here thanks :) still having the panicky moments but a lot less than before and they aren't as intense. The new job is going well so far.

We shut down for Christmas, this is the first job I've ever had where the company closes down! So in the 2 weeks kids holidays I'm working half of Christmas Eve and then one day the following week to get my weekly payroll sent but that's it! Can't wait to have some time with the kids and do Christmassy things.

Hope everyone is doing ok, sending cheers all round x

Sleepingbunnies · 04/12/2018 20:00

In bed. Trying to make toddler sleep so I can too!!

nomoreusernamesfree · 04/12/2018 20:12

Hi Erin
Yes was on my own today . So tired

erinaceus · 05/12/2018 00:49

Hi @nomoreusernamesfree so sorry to hear that. How is the rest of the week looking? Hope you get a good sleep tonight.

@Sleepingbunnies Hope you get some sleep too.

@cricketmum84 Good to hear. I am also looking forward to year end. We have a Christmas shut down too, which is good because there is then not masses of emails to deal with during the new year.

Flowers all.

Sleepingbunnies · 05/12/2018 20:56

Day 1 today of a sleep routine for an almost 3 yr old. Kill me now.

erinaceus · 25/12/2018 08:37

Would anyone else like a round of "We can all do this -- Christmas Edition"?

This thread helped me earlier in the year.
