prescribed citalopram 20mg scared to take it!!

Hi all

Just been prescribed citalopram 20mg from doctor this morning for PND and anxiety, I've scared myself to death about side effects.... weirdly the one scaring me most is jaw clenching?? I do the school run and worried that people will think I'm an addict!! Also worried about feeling worse? I haven't even put the prescription in yet I'm scared!!
Any advice or a hand hold would be lovely xx

No advice as I’ve just started citalopram 10mg for PND and anxiety also. The jaw clenching is mild and not noticeable!

Please don't be scared to take it, it really is helpful! I've been on 20mg citalopram for a few years now and suffer none of the side effects. the advantages of it do outweigh the risk of side effects.
It does take about a week or so for you to feel the benefit of the pill, as I'm sure your doctor told you, but once you're on it, it does give you that even keel and steadiness. I have anxiety and had PND and it worked wonders for me.
