Hey all. I'm not really sure why I am writting this. I'm so struggling with my anxiety atm. I suffer tremendously with it. Mainly health anxiety. Everything is a massive issue to me. My health my son's health my hubby health and my parents. I domt ever get a break. I'm on medication for this. Also done some talking therapy which to be fair hadn't helped much. Anything going on in my body I'm pretty much convinced I'm dying. I hate feeling this way. Anyone else suffer with anxiety? Smile

Hi op, I also suffer from health anxiety and I completely understand how mentally and physically exhausting it is. You are constantly on high alert looking for any change in skin or body or bodily functions (bowel movement, urine etc) in not just yourself but your immediate family which is exactly how I am too. I'm not taking anything for it as my anxiety makes me too nervous to take medication in case of physical symptoms as I also have a fear of vomiting or feeling spacey. Since you are already on medication I would go to the gp and explain to them that what you're on is not helping and they will either up your dose or try you on something new, it's worth a shot.

Personally I just try to keep up exercise (mainly through work being on my feet, walking a lot and heavy lifting in my job) and drink lots of water and listen to relaxing music, you could give those things a try.

if you've not tried it already, mindfulness can really help health anxiety as it teaches you to move your attention outside of yourself (or the object of your anxiety). It's not just about meditating, it teaches you skills that you can use across your whole day and how to notice and handle anxious thoughts.

Just coming on to say I don't have health anxiety but feel the same as you. It's exhausting and I just can't seem to make any progress.

I'm new to this though so probably things I could be doing.
