Sertraline and vivid dreams/insomnia

I've been taking sertraline (50mg dose) for about six weeks now to help with PMDD. It's been brilliant apart from one side effect: my sleep is ruined! Whilst I have no problem dropping off, I am waking up around 2:30 every morning without fail, and then waking frequently. In addition, I am getting some full-on dreams. Last night, Putin had given the world its 3 minute warning, for example! I am exhausted. Is this something that is likely to wear off, or do I need to have a chat with my GP?

I was like this at first, but it did improve... I can't remember how long it took, but I'd say 6 weeks is starting to be a bit too long. If it's not improving at all, it would be worth going back to the GP. They may advise you to give it a few more weeks, but at least they'll keep a closer eye on you.

Thanks. My current prescription runs out in a couple of weeks so will try and get an appointment before that.

My symptoms dropped off after about 6 weeks, apart from restless legs that never went away.
