I've got a DD of 1. After she was born, I couldn't wait to become pregnant again. It was the best time of my life!
Thought that we would try again this month to have another baby, but so many things are standing in the way.
I'm a registered childminder, but can't find any children to mind.
My husband wants me to look for a job, but then I will have to leave my child with someone else, and what money can I get then - after money is payed for childcare?
So I can't see any hope for another child if I have to go and work and pay childcare for 2 children.
If I see a pregnant lady I start crying!
AAAAAAAA!!!!

oh tasja I really do feel for you. Are you aware that the childcare part of Child Tax credit can pay for up to 80% of your childcare costs? I think it's up to £300 a week. Maybe you should look into this? I'm sure you will find a way and hey, at least if you don't get a job you will be 'making' more children to look after! LOL

Tasja, Im not sure how childminders find children to mind, do you advertise?
have you heard of gumtree.com?
would finding children to mind help you solve the problems, ie could you have more children then?

tasja · 04/06/2007 21:19

If I find children to mind, yes it would solve the problem, then I have a job - I get money in and I don't have to pay someone to look after my child, so I can have another child.

Believe me, I've advertised. But nothing come of it.

tasja · 04/06/2007 21:47

Thanks betty. Yes, advertised on gumtree, and looked in the childminder section of MN on tips of how to advertise more.

Tasja, this might be no use, but one suggestion for advertising is on cars: if you or dp drive, then obviously, use yours, otherwise would family / friends do t? get some nice posters printed to have in windows and keep them in cars, sounds a bit rubbish but your cars go everywhere; supermarkets, get left in car parks etc so more people may notice them?

tasja · 04/06/2007 21:52

That's a new idea. Thanks Walbert

Glad it might help: the one's that caught my eye were nice and bright and tidy looking, but bright to catch your eye! don't forget your name, number, any quaklifications, places available immediately, if you do flexible hours etc to be as appealing as poss! Good luck!
